Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dress-Up

Coat: Charles Gray, Jeans: Joe's Jeans (similar here), Sweater: Banana Republic, Tank Top: Ann Taylor (similar here), Purse: Kenneth Cole, Shoes: Via Spiga, Necklace: Anthropologie via Ebay

I wore this outfit out to eat with friends over the weekend and realized as I was taking photos in the parking lot behind the restaurant that it might have been just a teensy bit fancy for a burger pub. All the weird looks I kept getting from people confused as to why my photo shoot was taking place where they needed to park their cars didn't help either. But if you're going to a burger pub that's been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, you're pretty much one step away from being on TV yourself. Which means you need to look your best. I'd like to think I was just ready for my close-up in case a Food Network crew decided to pop in unannounced.

In all honesty, I wore this outfit mostly in the hopes that dressing more ladylike would encourage me to eat in a similar manner. It sort of worked. I'm proud to say I only ate half of my ginormous, cheese-stuffed burger. Which I immediately followed up with ice cream. Don't judge. Self-restraint and a ladylike outfit can only get a girl so far.

btw - i saw your comment on brooklyn blonde, what is the name of the hot pink color blouse you picked up from j. crew? i see a neon azalea online but it doesn't look as vibrant...maybe it's sold out? if so, just my luck! haha

  3. Thanks! I'm always waiting for the perfect weather to bust out that coat.

I think it is the Blythe blouse in neon azalea. I bought a similar, sleeveless version on sale over the summer that I love, too, but I think that one is gone. This Natasha top is a similar style, even though the color isn't quite as bright:
